WORLD MUSIC
Výraz world music zahŕňa tradičné hudba (niekedy nazývaný folková hudba alebo korene hudby) z akejkoľvek kultúry, ktoré sú vytvorené a hrá domácich hudobníkov, alebo že sú "dôkladne informovaný alebo riadiť domorodé hudby regiónmi ich pôvodu," [1], vrátane západnej hudby (napr. keltskej hudby). Široké kategórii world music zahŕňa izolované formy etnické hudby z rôznych geografických regiónoch. Tieto rozdielne kmeňov etnické hudby sú bežne kategorizované spoločne na základe svojich pôvodných koreňov. V priebehu 20. storočia, vynález záznam zvuku, nízka-náklady medzinárodnej leteckej doprave a spoločný prístup k celosvetovej komunikácii medzi umelcami a širokou verejnosťou vyvolala spriaznené jav nazýva "cross-over" hudby. Táto scéna je prosperujúce pomáha skutočnosť, že existuje veľa koncertov a inštitúcií, ktoré pomáhajú propagovať hudby. Alžírski a marocké hudby majú významnú prítomnosť vo francúzskom kapitálu.
